About OGMA
- OGMA-The English Literary Association, has been an integral part of the Department of English since the inception of our college, igniting a passion for literature and creative expression among students. The association is named OGMA in honour of OGMA, the Irish god of eloquence and wisdom, symbolizing the power of language and intellectual pursuit.
- The literary association strives to celebrate the literary arts and inspires students to think critically and creatively as they explore various forms of art, culture, and history through literature. It provides a dynamic platform where students can express themselves, engage with diverse literary forms, and craft innovative works that reflect their artistic and intellectual vision.
Mission
- To facilitate interest in the English language and literature by enhancing students’ skills in communication and creative expression. The club aims to provide an engaging environment where students from various streams can explore literature through artistic and literary activities, while building confidence and cultural awareness.

- To cultivate and inspire a community of students who grow into passionate readers, creative writers, and confident orators, finding joy, purpose, and expression through our engaging literary programmes.

Events Conducted in AY – 2024 - 2025
- A Movie Workshop- “The Enchanted Lens: Exploring Maleficent in Film” on 23rd August 2024. Students explored the concepts of cinematic storytelling and its literary connections through engaging literary discussion and a character-based quiz.
- Intra-Collegiate Literary Fest – “Ink and Imagination” on 18th September 2024, featured engaging literary games that provokes students' imaginative skills and literary talents.
- Career Guidance Workshop – “Turning Challenges into Opportunities: Career Guidance
from The Pursuit of Happyness,” on 19th December 2024, featured a guest speaker Dr.
Haseena Naji, Assistant Professor from VIT Chennai who provided career insights and inspired
students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. - The year wrapped up with the event Final Ink: OGMA Valediction, conducted on 25th March
2025, a grand celebration of the achievements of our talented participants, where prizes were
awarded to the winners and runners-up of the various events held throughout the year.
