ATTENDANCE & LEAVE OF ABSENCE
- As soon as the first bell rings, all students are expected to take their seats in their designated courses. After a silent prayer lasting one minute, class work will start in the morning session.
- Students that arrive late will not be allowed to join the class. Students should go to the library and stay there until the end of the session. They will then start attending classes in the following session.
- Students cannot miss class without submitting an appropriate leave request form that has been properly signed by their parents or guardians.
- Attendance will be recorded during each work period. Students risk losing their attendance if they arrive late. During class hours, any student discovered outside the classroom will be recorded as absent.
- To be eligible to take the end-of-semester exams, a student must have at least 75% (seventy-five percent) of the required attendance.
- A student’s absence from class for one or more hours during a session (afternoon or afternoon) will result in a half-day mark.
- If a student presents a letter of request, the Principal or the relevant HOD is the only person who can authorise them to leave the college grounds during business hours.
- For sick leaves longer than three days, a medical certificate must be presented, and for all other leaves, the student must provide appropriate documentation.
- The College Governing Body will serve as the appellate authority in any dispute regarding the condonation of attendance.
- The Principal may excuse absences up to a maximum of 10 percent, or nine days, in any semester for legitimate reasons such as illness, etc., upon payment of the prescribed condonation fee.
- Every month, the college notice board will display the attendance statement, and plans will be made to inform the parents as well.
- The student will not be allowed to take the end-of-semester examinations if their absence rate is more than the acceptable level. These students will be allowed to resume their studies in the following semester even though they were unable to write the university examinations.
- Absence from class in one semester will be made up in the next semester; in other words, a student’s total attendance for any two consecutive semesters will be considered when assessing whether or not they are eligible to appear in university exams.
- During a degree course, a student will only be allowed to carry over an attendance deficit once to the following semester; if this happens, the student will need to be readmitted.
GENERAL DISCIPLINE
- Each of our students is expected to show up to class on time, and they are also expected to behave in a way that does not disrupt other classrooms or divert their focus.
- Each hour ends with the bell ringing or the siren blowing, and all students are expected to remain sitting in their seats for the following hour.
- Students are not allowed to leave the classroom without permission from the teacher before the class is dismissed.
- Students are not allowed to organize meetings at the college or gather money for any reason without the principal’s consent.
- Each student is expected to take good care of the college’s property and make every effort to keep the campus tidy.
- It is highly prohibited for students to address any authority in a body without the authorization of the principal.
- Smoking is also prohibited on college campuses.
- Alcohol consumption is absolutely forbidden.
- Every student is required to dress appropriately and not show up at the college in inappropriate attire.
- All students must be present at all important events and functions in the college, neatly attired in their assigned uniform.
- Any student found to have violated any of the college’s rules, whether verbally or in writing, will be considered to have committed a breach of discipline, and the principal will have the authority to impose the following corrective measures: fines, loss of attendance, refusal to issue term and conduct certificates, suspension, and expulsion.
- College students are required to follow the regulations and support campus corporate life. They must respect the principal’s decision about the interpretation of the rules and any academic or disciplinary issue not covered by the rules.
- Should any student or group of students be discovered engaging in violence or vandalism that results in damage to college property, they will be held financially responsible for both the fine and the cost of replacing those properties, either separately or jointly.
- Without the principal’s prior approval, no notice of any type may be distributed by the students or posted anywhere on the college campus.
